MDM Trouble Report for 2005 Jun 26

Instrument: echelle direct + 2in FW

Problem(s) Encountered:
For two successive exposures the shutter opened only partially
and stuck, exposing only the middle of the field.  There was a
six-fold symmetry in the exposed region.  The next couple of
exposures showed trails below the bright stars, indicating that
the shutter was not closed during readout (the trails weren't
straight, i.e. showed image motion; a charge bleed down a column 
wouldn't look like this).  The problem quickly cured itself --
we didn't do anything to cure it except move the filters (before
we understood the problem).  We had no further problems during
the night.  Affected images are data/thor/direct/jun27/ccd.272
through 274; also junk.274 and junk.275, I believe.
