MDM Trouble Report for 2005 Nov 25 Telescope: 2.4m Observer(s): Prieto (OSU) Instrument: CCDS Problem(s) Encountered: The first problem was something ocurred to me once before with CCDS, in the first calibrations images (flat + lamp), just before starting a long exposure. This first two files were not saved in the directory /lhome/data/, even though I did the integrations and it said it was writing out the files. After this I quited from Prospero and Caliban and restarted all again. All was fine again with the exception that I had to reset the usual parameters of the instrument: grooves, order, central wavelength. The grating tilt was fine as before. Well, I decided to do the calibrations and take the first spectrum without resetting the parameters for the first headers and change this after because it was taking me too much time. The first images were saved in /lhome/data/, all was working fine. So, now the problems started when I reentered the parameters in Prospero. I changed the central wavelength to its original value (5700 AA, it said 0 AA after I reinitialized), the grating tilt changed and here is were the real problems started. I tried the command grattilt in Prospero but it didn't work. After a few more tries with null results I decided to call Bob Barr to ask him what to do. In summary, it looks like its a hardware problem and the IE is not working. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2005 Nov 25 [8:43:29]
