MDM Trouble Report for 2006 Nov 9 Telescope: 2.4m Observer(s): L. Watson (OSU) Instrument: CCDS and Retrocam Problem(s) Encountered: 1) At UT 22:24, I had to use the xferall command to transfer my images from Cailban. 2) At 3:50am local time, the telescope got hung up during a move. It got really close to my object, so I couldn't tell that it didn't complete the move. I thought for awhile that the guiding system wasn't working. But eventually I noticed that there weren't asterisks in the Next Object Hour Angle section of TCS and just stopped the telescope and re-sent my coordinates as it says to do in the manual. Not too bad. On the bright side, I had to ABORT a Retrocam sequence here and it didn't freeze. 3) I'm not sure if it's related, but about ten minutes later I was on an object, guiding and taking an image, when the telescope started moving in RA. I eventually just sent my coordinates again and hit GO and everything was fine. I don't know what happened. Maybe it had just been hung up again for a little while and was just then completing the move (I guess the guide star would have had to have been really stable for this to be the case or else I would have lost guiding like I did in the previous situation). ------------------------------ Submitted on 2006 Nov 9 [7:20:41]
