MDM Trouble Report for 2007 Jan 21

Problem(s) Encountered:
While taking a Xenon comp spectrum the readout failed. Abort 
with X didn't work. With CRTL C prosper return. However, the 
following bias frame failed too. No response from prospero. 
Then error messages:
  error: Requested operation timeout
  error: Cannot parse the status message
  USAGE: BIAS 'title for image' [CCD|IR]
  Execution error in prospero command
  Command bias bias

The restart of prospero failed since the startup in prospero 
failed since it couldn't connect with ISIS or IC.
Prospero startup error:
 connecting to ISIS...
 error: Requested operation time out
 error: Cannot get config status from the IC
suggestions:
 1) verify that the system is up and running
 2) check the prospero.ini file and see if ICHOST is valid for
    this system

Startup failed
  execution error in prospero command
  command: startup

Thus the IC computer was restarted. However, the monitor of 
the IC computer was black, i.e. blank. The restart if IC 
failed, i.e. no change of the status of the IC monitor. In 
addition no response from the IC keyword. Jiggling the cord 
of the keyboard brought the keyboard back and also the IC 
monitor; successful restart. However, the IC monitor went 
blank again. Ignoring this fact prospero was brought back 
to life and worked for the rest of the night.
