MDM Trouble Report for 2007 Jan 24 Telescope: 1.3m Observer(s): Denney and Dietrich (OSU) Instrument: CCDS Problem(s) Encountered: The problem we had was with the CCDS Acquisition camera. It was working properly until after a couple calibration images, we went to restart the exposure for the next grating setting and received the following error: No camera could be found. Please make sure it is connected to correct port and that the Graphics/Comm setup in the Misc. menu is setup correctly. We found this problem in the CCDS Acquisition Camera manual and followed the steps layed out there to fix it.: We followed the cables from the computer out to the camera on the telescope to make sure they were all connected tightly, and recycled the power, etc. The first time this didn't work, however, and we never received a message that new hardware found on the computer. So, we shut off the power to the camera again until we restarted the computer and then turned the power back on. This time, it linked up with the camera just fine, and we continued with our observations. We didn't have to continue with step 5. in the instructions in the manual and install any drivers. We also made sure to log back in as visitor. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2007 Jan 25 [6:45:54]
