MDM Trouble Report for 2007 Sep 9

Problem(s) Encountered:
When we tried to burn our data onto disk (using the Hilt computer),
the files burn, but with an error message.  Trying to copy
or read the burnt file off the disk leads to some kind of 
corrupt file error message, of the sense: check bit failed.

We were able to successfully tarball and ftp the data, so it 
is safe and seems ok.  So, we are suspicious that there may 
be an issue with the Hilt burner.  Needless to say, it is 
equally likely the issue is instead with us!
