MDM Trouble Report for 2007 Dec 12

Problem(s) Encountered:
The dome was found not to move when we tried to move it to defrost it this morning.  We found that the Minarik speed control BC90UD4 was blowing fuses.  This was replaced by a newer Minarik MM23001A speed controller and this seemed to get the dome working again.  However, the power resistor on the reversing controller Minarik RC-115 was glowing cherry red when the dome was stationary.  I ran out of time to fix this fault and cancelled 2.4m observing tonight.  The new controller board needs considerable set up time which we do not have this evening.  Work on this will continue in the morning.
