MDM Trouble Report for 2008 Apr 2 Telescope: 1.3m Observer(s): L. Watson (OSU) Instrument: CCDS Problem(s) Encountered: I encountered three minor problems last night: 1) At UT 01:49, I tried to change the wavelength center using center 6000. Prospero took a long time and finally did not change the wavelength and gave the error: Error: requested operation timed out. Center command aborted with errors. I ran seqinit on the IC computer in the computer room and also ran startup in prospero. I'm not sure which one of these helped, but the center command and Prospero worked well after that. 2) This one is very minor, but about three times during the night, a GUI would pop up in CCDOPSS that said Receive timeout. I just hit okay and restarted the focus sequence and everything was fine (no computer restarts or camera power cycling necessary). 3) At UT~08:45, I think the finder mirror got stuck when moving from the in position out. However, it could also be that I was doing something stupid. I've listed more details of the situation to help determine if it was me or the mirror that was at fault. More details: with the guide probe at the center position, I saw my bright standard star in the guider monitor and placed it such that it should have been near but not in the slit when I moved the probe out of the science beam. But when I moved the guide probe out of the science beam, I could not see the object or any of the stars in the same field on the slit viewer camera. I moved the guide probe around and I'm sure I had the finder mirror out during this process. I moved the finder mirror in and back out once more and my star came into view on the slit viewer camera. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2008 Apr 3 [5:59:46]
