MDM Trouble Report for 2008 May 17

Problem(s) Encountered:
Starting at approx. 6 pm local time we began taking dome flats
with ambient light. No matter what the exposure time we obtained
the same number of counts. We removed the dark hatch on the 
filter wheel and confirmed that the lens cover and MIS hatch were 
open. 
Even with all three of these open the symptom persisted. 
We eventually called Bob who suggested moving the finder in and 
then back out. This seemed to remedy the situation. Counts, 
however, were low all night despite good S/N. Could this be a 
gain issue? While these issues did not prevent us from taking 
data, we are skeptical as to the utility of the data during the
early part of the evening. Any insight would be appreciated;
