MDM Trouble Report for 2008 Nov 18

Problem(s) Encountered:
Communication problems occurred again, first at the
start of the night. We tried to swap the fiber optics cables, 
which seemed to resolve the problem, and we then observed for 
about 5 hours in line. We got an  asynchronous read  error
on the chip around midnight, and got more communications 
problems. Seemed like half the commands to the cemare would
fail. We tried recycling the power, the fiber optics box, 
reconnecting the fiber optics cables, resetting the electronics, 
and eventually communication was re-established
although we're not sure why. Similar problems occurred again
at 1am, 2:30am, and 3:30am, and we followed the same procedures.
Each time the camera eventually behaved again, but we don't know
why.
