MDM Trouble Report for 2008 Oct 28 Telescope: 1.3m Observer(s): Denney (OSU) Instrument: CCDS Problem(s) Encountered: The actual first problem was initially getting the CCDS Acquisition camera running at the start of the night. Bob and I resolved this problem with the help of Rick Pogge, who already is informed about this problem (we had to reinstall the drivers). The next problem that Bob had warned me about already was that I got a mirror error that the mirror covers were neither opened nor closed. I ignored it until I was going to move the telescope and I just went ahead and closed the mirror covers and opened them again so they would be happy. The final error I encountered was that I wanted to move to an RA and Dec. of 09:56:52 and +41:15:22 at an LST of 05:24. I got the following Error: point east limit . However, I really didn't see anything wrong with this location, it would have been at an airmass of less than 2.0, and I was able to get as close as the desired dec. and an RA of ~09:36:52, but I had to wait about 15 minutes (did some calibration images instead) for the system to allow me to go there. By LST 05:45, it didn't have a problem moving there. Oh, finally, I talked to Mark Wagner, who was a little worried about the camera focus, but I seemed to be able to focus fine. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2008 Oct 28 [6:21:50]
