MDM Trouble Report for 2008 Apr 17 Telescope: 2.4m Observer(s): McGreer (Columbia) Instrument: TIFKAM Problem(s) Encountered: At around 3AM I was pointing north into a 20mph wind, so that guiding became impossible. I switched to a target in the south which required a half-turn of the dome. During the move the message ``Moving with autodome off'' appeared on the TCS screen even though autodome was on, and the dome was moving. It went to the correct position and stopped, but then did not move. The encoder continued to read the correct values, and when the error reached ~15 degrees I tried toggling the autodome switch. This has no effect so I also cycled the yellow button on the dome controller, but this also didn't work. I ran the dome manually, and the encoder continued to update in sync with my moves. Also, the TIFKAM chip is performing well, though I did see the bad quadrant a couple of times. Both times it appeared in 2-3 successive images and then went away again. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2008 Apr 17 [5:30:05]
