MDM Trouble Report for 2009 Aug 26 Telescope: 1.3m Observer(s): Jules Halpern, Jia Liu (Columbia U.) Instrument: Templeton Problem(s) Encountered: The TCS lost connection with the server at about 1:54am, in the middle of a slew. It started back up okay, but the coordinates were then off by about the diameter of the CCD, and had to be rezeroed. For now, observers must be prepared to precess the coordinates of any of their objects to the current equinox, because that is what the zero command requires. Not much evidence of telescope oscillation tonight in any position. It still sometimes takes the guider quite a long time to move in the N-S direction. It took me quite a few tries to burn the DVD on hill. This one seems more tempermental than the one on agung. Is there a particular technique for getting it right the first time? ------------------------------ Submitted on 2009 Aug 26 [4:20:53]
