MDM Trouble Report for 2009 Jan 17 Telescope: 2.4m Observer(s): C. Liu, T. Paglione, N. Hunt-Walker (AMNH/CUNY) Instrument: CCDS Problem(s) Encountered: Late in the night, the telescope tracking suddenly slipped about one arcminute east. I was pointing toward the equator about three hours westward at the time. It only happened once, and I was able to recover quickly since I was doing a long integration of a small object. Reporting on a different kind of trouble: there is a foul odor at the base of the stairs that leads from the 2.4m work area to the bedrooms - like animal urine or a dead creature. Perhaps something is in the vent along the floor there? ------------------------------ Submitted on 2009 Jan 18 [23:42:43]
