MDM Trouble Report for 2009 Jul 11 Telescope: 2.4m Observer(s): Mark Reynolds (UofM) Instrument: retrocam Problem(s) Encountered: I used retrocam for an hour at the beginning of the evening before switching to TIFKAM. When I returned to retrocam to get flats at the end of the night I ran into a problem. Retrocam was unable to change filters, and simply hung when I pressed the filter change button. I was trying to change from r --> g, the error message said that the IFW was unreachable. The IFW box on the telescope currently indicates that the r filter is still in position. Inspection of the cable around the box does not reveal any loose connections. Upon restarting retrocam it would again hang, I've included the retrocam start up messages below, the IP message appears in a seperate pop-up box after a few minutes. I'll try rebooting the computers tomorrow afternoon and see if that help. Regardless retrocam is not critical for my observations so there is NO NEED for this problem to be fixed tomorrow. The RA/DEC drives went into the GUIDE2 state a number of times tonight, as suggested by Bob simply pressing the stop button on the xtcs widget wakes the drives back up. Also no problems with TIFKAM after the optics board replacement (cheers Bob) ------------------------------ Submitted on 2009 Jul 12 [5:32:48] NOTE: This trouble report replaces the previous report for 2009 Jul 11
