MDM Trouble Report for 2010 Dec 19 Telescope: 1.3m Observer(s): van Saders (OSU) Instrument: CCDS Problem(s) Encountered: The problem was short lived and does not appear to be ongoing, but is worth mentioning. After observing a high declination (74 degrees) target at ~1 HA, slewed to a target at lower dec. Upon trying to center the object on the slit, I found that the TCS paddle, physical paddle, and guider all seemed unable to move the telescope to the north (although south initially worked, and then also failed) The target was adequately on the slit, so I decided to observe it and troubleshoot afterwards. Midway through the exposure the telescope pointing suddenly shifted by ~60 arcseconds, at which point paddle and guiding resumed seemingly normal behavior, and functioned fine for the rest of the night. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2010 Dec 19 [5:31:06]
