MDM Trouble Report for 2010 Jul 12

Problem(s) Encountered:
Tonight we are having a very major problem with the telescope 
that is preventing all observations:

Over the past couple nights the telescope has been coming to a 
sudden stop after slewing a short distance, as we explained in
previous trouble reports. At the beginning of tonight, we tried
moving the telescope to the dome flat screen, and noticed that
whenever it came to a sudden stop, the telescope shook 
violently. We stowed the telescope and abandoned all 
observations. We tried calling all the contact numbers on the 
cork board, and were unable to reach anyone. We also tried 
sending an email to mdmstaff@mdm.kpno.noao.edu, but it bounced 
back with an error message of  550 550 5.1.1 
mdmstaff@mdm.kpno.noao.edu... User unknown (state 14). 

We will not observe tonight unless we are contacted by someone
in regards to this problem.
