MDM Trouble Report for 2010 Jun 30 Telescope: 2.4m Observer(s): Tobin and Hsu (Michigan) Instrument: TIFKAM Problem(s) Encountered: Around 0315 the image quality went really bad, we initially thought it was seeing since clouds were in the area of the target. Upon trying to refocus the image showed the characteristic triangular shape of the air bags deflating. The mirror support PC never set off an alarm, however the total forces were substantially lower than the mirror support manual shows. We then stopped the telescope in-place and closed for the night. We attempted one fix, exited the mirror support program using qq, and then rebooted the computer. The support system still read the hard points around 80 - 90 and the bags have negative pressure and all the bags have MORE below them. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2010 Jun 30 [4:00:15]
