MDM Trouble Report for 2010 Mar 16 Telescope: 2.4m Observer(s): Halpern, Liu (Columbia U.) Instrument: CCDS Problem(s) Encountered: While rotating the instrument, a white power strip cord got yanked out of its socket (the one with the tag Do not tie up - rotator cable ). Even though it is plenty long enough, it seems to get hung up on a black power cord going into the IE electronics box. That connection going to the IE is loose and needs to be taped up again. However, this event seemed not to interrupt the connection to the IE, and the CCDS is still working fine. I bent the tines of the white power plug back into approximate alignment by hand and plugged it back into the telescope. As far as I could figure out, this power strip goes only to retrocam. So I restarted retrocam, reinitialized its functions (TCS, camera cooling, filter wheel) and took as few bias frames. Everything seems to be working okay now, but I don't know if the power interrupt affected anything else, since the thicket of cords is pretty dense up there. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2010 Mar 16 [22:02:26]
