MDM Trouble Report for 2011 Dec 8 Telescope: 1.3m Observer(s): Grier and Mudd (Ohio State) Instrument: CCDS Problem(s) Encountered: We had a bunch of problems with the guider cam. It worked decently for the first half of the night, then appeared to start losing track of guide stars. After that, it stopped slewing in general. The pointing of the telescope was checked repeatedly to see if it was the issue, but every time the problem seemed to stem from the guider cam. The observer then tried to restart the Maxim DL program in hopes of getting a fresh start. It seemed to then have an install error of some kind, saying the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. After that, it was no valid source could be found, followed by could not initialize guider output . After enough toying, it begrudgingly, and after many warnings of problems, started guiding again. On the next attempted slew, however, it stopped working once again in a similar fashion. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2011 Dec 9 [5:30:58]
