MDM Trouble Report for 2011 Jan 10 Telescope: 2.4m Observer(s): Halpern (Columbia) Instrument: OSMOS Problem(s) Encountered: The coarse focus has again worked its way to the end of its travel, so that I cannot quite focus the guider. Since I am observing alone now, I couldn't adjust it in the middle of the night because there isn't anyone to look at the monitor at the same time. Please put the motor mic back where it belongs. This is particularly crucial when observing with OSMOS, as it seems to me that I am not getting the subarcsecond stability that is necessary to keep the target in the slit blindly. Sometimes the target is out of the slit at the end of the exposure. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2011 Jan 11 [7:19:55]
