MDM Trouble Report for 2012 Sep 13 Telescope: 1.3m Observer(s): Colon (UH) Instrument: 4K Problem(s) Encountered: I'm guessing that because the telescope had not been used since September 3, when I took a 10 second sky flat I saw a condensation pattern on the image. I took a 15 minute exposure to vent the CCD. This seemed to remove a good deal, but not all, of the condensation... A condensation pattern plagued my images for the duration of the night. I had to correct for a 13' offset in the E/W tilt again (see previous trouble reports on this...). There was a problem with the guide probe. The guide probe would not move to the location of the guide star I selected. When I clicked on a star in the JSkyCalc program and selected Move Guide Probe , the probe would move and its y-coordinate would match the y-coordinate of the star I selected, but the x-coordinate of the guide probe did not go to the right position. I tried selecting a different star and it still did the same thing. I then closed JSkyCalc and reopened it and it still didn't work. Since I couldn't figure this issue out quickly, and so as to not waste any more time, I simply did not use the guider during the observations and monitored the images by eye, using the paddle to readjust the field when needed (which was not very often). Prospero appeared frozen at one point, showing that it was still integrating even after the image had been read out and saved. To fix this I closed the Prospero terminal and restarted it. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2012 Sep 14 [0:00:12]
