MDM Trouble Report for 2012 Dec 09 Telescope: 2.4m Observer(s): Jacob brown, Marat Musin, James Runge (University of Missouri Columbia) Instrument: OSMOS Problem(s) Encountered: At around 9 pm it was noted that the Telescope Air Conditioning System Computer showed that the Primary mirror temperature shoot up to funny temperatures (40 degrees C). The temperature display stayed up for the entire night around 20 Degrees Celsius. We stopped observing for 30 minutes when first noticing this problem because we were not sure if this was a real problem or just the temperature sensor malfunctioning. After consulting the support staff (Bob), we kept observing. Also when closing up for the night the dome did not get fully back to home. We had to use the emergency power to close the dome. However we were not able to rotate the dome back fully onto the contacts. When we first tried to shut the dome using the emergency power the circuit breaker flipped and we flipped it back on and tried again and it worked fine to get the dome closed ------------------------------ Submitted on 2012 Dec 10 [7:59:58]
