MDM Trouble Report for 2012 Nov 13

Problem(s) Encountered:
Owl crashed around 11:30 pm on Nov 13.  

We had been getting  warning  messages about an  input/output  
error when Owl read out a file.  We noticed this a bit after opening
the temperature plot.  At the time, we thought they were connected.
This went on for about 30 minutes, but since it was just a warning
 and we couldn't find any information on it, we continued to 
observed.  Then Owl aborted our current exposure and gave us an 
error saying it had aborted the exposure (we believe at read out)
and another error saying that it  could not read temperature 
from controller .  We tried clicking the temperature button but
 got the same error message about the controller temperature.

So we quit Owl (by clicking  exit ) and restarted it from the 
Applications menu.  The  Dir  and  File  spaces were as we had 
left them.  We had to re-fill the FITS header information 
(observer, instrument, CCDPICNO, object, & secpix).  We clicked
 the controller  setup  button and kept the defaults at first. 
 It took us two more images to realize that we needed to adjust
 the image size and redefine the subarray.  

After that, Owl worked fine.
