MDM Trouble Report for 2012 Oct 09

Problem(s) Encountered:
Main power outage at 22:50 knocked vesuvius and Internet off.  
When vesuvius was restarted, it immediately and consistently 
issued error  Authorization failure - cannot access startx server. 
We could not start xwindiows on vesuvius and had to run alternative
versions of 8K acquisition software, which did not perform as well.
