MDM Trouble Report for 2013 Apr 05 Telescope: 1.3m Observer(s): Halpern, Li (Columbia) Instrument: Templeton Problem(s) Encountered: The liquid nitrogen valve assembly sprung a small leak while we were filling at the beginning of the night. It seems not to have been firmly seated in the tank. Unnoticed by us, it popped up during the night, and almost all of the nitrogen was gone. We had just enough for a fill in the morning, but there will not be any more. I would like to swap in the spare 50 liter that is full. But I am not yet sure if there is an internal problem with the valve assembly. If I try to install it in the second tank, maybe it will leak there too. Any advice would be appreciated. I am waiting for it to thaw out so I can get a good look at it. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2013 Apr 6 [5:58:57]
