MDM Trouble Report for 2013 Apr 11 Telescope: 1.3m Observer(s): Schiminovich, Hamden, Gordon (Columbia University) Instrument: visitor/proto-CHAS/templeton Problem(s) Encountered: This is described in the observing log, but last night we ran into a problem with OWL's communication with the CCD. We'd hit the expose button and it would not take an exposure but the log showed some kind of error (not always the same). Unfortunately upon restart the log is not restored, we did not write it down at the time, and I'm not sure where the log is located, so we can't give you the precise error/Exception, but perhaps you can find it. (It did display hexadecimal digits.) We figured out that we could restore operations by restarting OWL and re-configuring. Everything would return to where we were before. But the error happened at least three times, possibly more. A lesser item worth noting. The pointing is getting a bit far off, a few arcminutes; we did not reset the pointing using the tilt sensors. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2013 Apr 12 [8:23:34]
