MDM Trouble Report for 2013 Oct 23 Telescope: 1.3m Observer(s): Eric Gaidos (University of Hawaii) Instrument: B4K Problem(s) Encountered: Prospero window froze. No error messages in any of the terminals. Restarted Prospero. Would not complete connection to IC. Rebooted IC. Would not reboot - no signal to either terminal. Tried multiple reboots - beeping alarm sounded after one try. Swapped out spare IC from 2.4m. Discovered that fiber optic sequencer board was mounted at incorrect angle due to broken flange and improvised mounting screw hole and that this angle prevented the fiber optic cable B from being attached. Removed screw to allow board to assume normal angle. Successfully attached fiber optics. Good boot, all systems normal, however bias shows horizontal random striping (not fine grain noise, but bars of varying width and 100-300 dn) for all four quad amps. Tried seqinit and restrating on mcgraw. No effect. Opened IC back up and verified that board was in place, wiggled a bit, and propped it back into its original (out of place) angle. Rebooted IC. Did this twice. Problem with readout persists. Called it a night at 9:30 PM. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2013 Oct 23 [21:53:26]
