MDM Trouble Report for 2013 Aug 29 Telescope: 2.4m Observer(s): Halpern, et al. (Columbia) Instrument: Modspec Problem(s) Encountered: In the early evening it was discovered that the power strip that brings power from the telescope to everything on the instrument rotator had become unplugged (the white cord with a tag on it that says DO NOT UNPLUG, followed by a fat exclamation point). It's hard to imagine how this happened because we have never even moved the telescope, and were not in the dome today, as far as I know, except to fill the dewar. Anyway, we plugged it in, and then spent some time restoring the functions of all of the instrumentation. The MIS would not initialize until I toggled the power on its controller box. It was necessary to close all of the OWL related windows, including its ds9, before it would restart. Finger Lakes and Andor cameras are okay. Everything tests out okay to the extent that can be determined without observing. No time was lost because we are closed due to weather. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2013 Aug 29 [23:04:49]
