MDM Trouble Report for 2013 Jun 06

Problem(s) Encountered:
Twice during the afternoon, Owl started giving nonsense data -- 
all zeros.  Once was when I was starting to set up the 
spectrograph, after the controller had been idle for a while, and
the other time was in the middle of a sequence of flat fields.
Failure was silent - the images just started coming up blank
without an error message.  I could get going again by 
running the Owl Setup (i.e., re-loading the code into the
controller, etc) and re-loading my subarray format. 

I think this was caused by high ambient temperature affecting 
the Leach electronics.  Paul set up the big fan to blow air
over the controller box from a distance, and I didn't have
any trouble after that.  It did not recur during the night, 
when it was much cooler than the afternoon of course.
