MDM Trouble Report for 2013 Oct 15 Telescope: 2.4m Observer(s): Rhiannon Griffin (University of Oklahoma) Instrument: OSMOS, R4K Problem(s) Encountered: The CCD warmed up (due to user error, most likely, bad fill of nitrogen). There was a problem with the shutter, Prospero would say it was open for an exposure, when it wasn't. Prospero just said, exposure starting and that the shutter was open, but would not do anything else, had to abort the exposure to get the command line prompt back I called Eric at this point and we tried various troubleshooting procedures before noticing the temperature (restarting Prospero, restarting IE, restarting IE and HE). The computer in the control room displayed -HE -Sequencer. After we noticed the CCD had warmed up, I filled the dewar and waited for the temperature to cool down to -80, then took a test bias and a quick test exposure on the sky, and it worked. Total time lost was about an hour and 15 minutes, but some of that was evening twilight. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2013 Oct 16 [6:18:22]
