MDM Trouble Report for 2014 Jan 03 Telescope: 1.3m Observer(s): Michael Fausnaugh (OSU) Instrument: CCDS Problem(s) Encountered: After slewing to the first standard star (fairly early in twilight), there was a large N-S wobble, with amplitude of 10 arcseconds. The spectra for this star are spread over 50 lines on the detector, are most likely unusable. After slewing to the second source, the wobble stopped, with no more nodding all night. In addition, the TCS agent link went down several times. Our scripts reconfigure the telescope to take Xe lamps while it slews-- if we slew with JSkycalc, it appears to shut down the TCS agent just as the finder mirror finishes moving to the IN position. This problem was solved by typing tcinit and then tcstatus in the TCS agent terminal. No time was lost for this problem. Slewing with the catalog on the TCS GUI does not have this problem. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2014 Jan 4 [6:17:49]
