MDM Trouble Report for 2014 Jan 29

Problem(s) Encountered:
The telescope started nodding twice during the night in N-S direction
with an amplitude of ~20 arcsec.
The first time was as we were about to set up on a target. Had to abandon the 
effort because we could not focus and could not start guiding because of the 
nodding; we moved on to the next target. We did move back to this target 
as a test and the nodding resumed.
The second time the nodding started in the middle of and exposure. Continued 
the exposure but signal was smeared along the slit.
