MDM Trouble Report for 2014 Apr 29 Telescope: 2.4m Observer(s): Terndrup (Ohio State) Instrument: OSMOS/R4K Problem(s) Encountered: Guiding worked well once it was started properly. On the relatively rare occasions with good seeing, the telescope produced good images. There was a lot of wind shaking. Late in the night the telescope would lose guiding by jumping or moving about an arcminute or so N or S. Possibly mostly N, but I did not keep track. This required us to keep a constant watch on the guider. The solution was to stop the guiding, tell the telescope to go to the original pointing position, and restart. Perhaps a half hour was lost and 1% of our images will be affected. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2014 Apr 30 [5:00:13]
