MDM Trouble Report for 2014 Oct 22 Telescope: 2.4m Observer(s): Fesen, Black, and Milisavljevic (Dartmouth and Harvard) Instrument: MK III Problem(s) Encountered: Besides the shutter no working (it turned out to be a fuse), the telescope still has the coordinate drifting problem. An easy work around is to reset the coordinates at the start of the night using the leveling indicators and then remember to reset the coordinates at each object at the end of observing it before moving to your next target. A secondary problem which was noticed once the night before but reoccurred tonight, was a sudden movement of the telescope when setting up on a target and lightly touching the east set buttons. The telescope seems to have moved east by some 10 arcmin. This happened three times with two different observers. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2014 Oct 22 [12:23:24]
