MDM Trouble Report for 2015 Apr 14 Telescope: 1.3m Observer(s): Ryan Chornock (Ohio University) Instrument: R4K Problem(s) Encountered: I don't know if this is the famous nodding issue, but I had some targets tonight where my images were trailed in the N-S direction. /data/mcgraw/ab_rc.0058.fits is a good example in a short 60s exposure. (Eric, I have it loaded up in the ds9 window on mdm13ws1.) This happened for two targets, both of whom were at azimuths in the west, pointed into the wind. I simply chose other targets to get around it. All my other long exposures were OK. For those targets where it happened, you could easily see it on the guide camera: the star was just oscillating up and down. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2015 Apr 15 [7:04:37]
