MDM Trouble Report for 2015 Apr 24 Telescope: 2.4m Observer(s): Christopher Carroll (Dartmouth College) Instrument: OSMOS Problem(s) Encountered: I had issues with the guide probe last night that were fixed. Tonight I had to focus the guide probe, but then it seems like it wasn't keeping track of the guide star properly. My target would move in and out of the slit during long exposures. I refocused the guide probe and went back to observing. As a few hours had passed, I checked the seeing again, and during this process the telescope lost pointing. I manually slewed to zenith and reset the RA/Dec encoders on the nearest bright star. I went back to observing but the humidity climbed passed 85% so I closed the dome. While closing up, the dome was off track and I had to manually turn the dome to the home position so I could close the dropout and main shutter. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2015 Apr 25 [5:24:06]
