MDM Trouble Report for 2015 May 13 Telescope: 2.4m Observer(s): Oey (Michigan) Instrument: CCDS Problem(s) Encountered: We now have unstable pointing problems in addition to the collimation problem, I'm afraid. The aberration used to be pure coma and now it is coma + astigmatism. Image quality is significantly worse but that may be due to bad seeing, hard to know. Your theory about the secondary shifting is consistent with our experience of impossible pointing. There seemed to be no consistency in what direction the pointing error is with each new pointing. It is off by several arcminutes each time, even with small slews on the order of degrees. thus, star-hopping did not seem to help maintain pointing. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2015 May 14 [4:25:45]
