MDM Trouble Report for 2016 Apr 25

Problem(s) Encountered:

1. Sound does not work.
When I visited here in Dec. 2015, 
a sound from computer was played after one exposure.
I think that the sound system is in problem now. 
I tried to turn on any videos in Youtube, but it did not work either. 
Could you make the speaker work?

2. TCS pointing error 
Near 8:20 PM MST, we encountered a pointing problem.
After finding a nearby bright star, I made “Set RA/Dec Encoders” 
after making sure that the “Next Object” field had the RA and Dec for the bright star. 
However, the setting used RA and Dec values written in xtcs window
and made wrong pointing solution. 
After I input the RA and Dec of the bright star in the xtcs window, 
it worked well.  
I remember that it is different what is written in the manual “Long-slit Observing With OSMOS”.

3. “Set Dome Az Encoder” problem 
Near 2 AM MST, we tried to set the dome Az values. 
However, the “return” button in the number pad did not work. 
Only the ‘return’ button in the main key board worked. 

4. TCSLink failure 
Near 2:30 AM MST, the ostrtask made error messages. 
After finding error of TCSLink, 
we typed TCINIT and TCSTATUS in Prospero and it solved the problem. 

5. Signal of Xe lamp
We took Xe images with an exposure time 5 min with 0.9 inner slit.
However, the signal is less than 500ADU. 
It seems that the brightness of the Xe lamp is too low. 
Can you increase the signal of the Xe lamp?

6. Guide star lost 
After 4 AM, we sometimes lost our guide stars. 
The airmass of the target is around 1.2. 
Since most of our targets are located in the North direction, 
it seems that the oscillation is due to the wind. 

7. position of 0.9” inner and 3.0” inner slits 
We finally realized that the x-position of these two slits 
are different. 

8. Nitrogen tank 
The nozzle from the nitrogen showed some leak
and it was broken in the morning after I filled the dewer.   
Please fix this. I am sorry for that.
