MDM Trouble Report for 2017 Nov 05 Telescope: 2.4m Observer(s): Douglas, Nunez (Columbia) Instrument: OSMOS Problem(s) Encountered: We ran into a couple of minor issues tonight. The issue with the telescope running away when asked to cross RA = 23:59/00:00 persisted. This time, we were at RA=00:16 and tried to slew to RA=23:44. The telescope ran away East instead of slewing West like it should have. We stopped it immediately, slewed across by hand, and then the telescope slewed happily. When going from RA=23 to RA=00 (or vice versa) for the rest of the night, we just slewed across the line by hand, then sent the automatic slew. It seems like the new TCS doesn't know how to handle changes in RA that take it across 0. We had an issue in Prospero: after entering the go command to start an exposure, the command window stopped showing status updates. Nothing showed in the isis window, until we hit Ctrl-C. Isis window then started giving updates on the exposure (correct ones: open shutter, etc...), but not the command window. The status window showed IC down . We let it finish the exposure and save the file, and then entered the restart command. Then everything went back to normal. This happened twice tonight. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2017 Nov 6 [4:09:38]
