MDM Trouble Report for 2018 Jan 13 Telescope: 2.4m Observer(s): Douglas, Curtis (Columbia) Instrument: OSMOS/R Problem(s) Encountered: Prospero had some issues near the beginning of the night. First, when we called snapclean, it was changing the binning but not the ROI. Then when we switched back to a different ROI, it didn't change the binning, and calling sky objectname still left it in snapclean mode. We restarted Prospero which fixed the objectname update but not the snapclean binning/ROI issue. Also at one point 3 exposures were missing - the exposure and I/O completed in Prospero but the files weren't anywhere in the data directory. We called Jules to ask about this, and while we were on the phone the files appeared. Apparently this is a known issue. Finally Prospero hung later in the evening, during file readout. It wrote the file to disk but when we hit ctrl-C we got Warning: could not update NEXTFILE and LASTFILE. Problems with the filename command . We again restarted Prospero and everything was fine. The dome once more did not go home at the end of the night; it stayed stuck at 270 (it's possible that it didn't follow the last flux standard; we forgot to check). Once we paddled it from 270 to 280 it continued home on its own. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2018 Jan 14 [6:58:43]
