MDM Trouble Report for 2018 Sep 07 Telescope: 2.4m Observer(s): Lin & Rupert (University of Michigan) Instrument: B4K Problem(s) Encountered: Had issues that I believe started with the temperature- dependent focus feature. At the end of the night, Rupert attempted to run the focus4k Prospero routine. I disabled the focus feature before doing so. When I called the routine, it seemed like the focus lost itself by the net amount it had shifted the focus as a result of temperature. I tried to start it at 6825 but it instead went to 6675, that difference of ~150 being the difference as a result of the net temperature change. This seemed to hiccup the IC. I ended up power cycling it three times. Each time I was unable to take an image or even run a movie. Whenever I did this, Prospero would think for a while and eventually abort the exposure. Then it would eventually admit in the Prospero Status window that the IC was down. The following error message appeared on the mono IC monitor: ERROR: TIMEOUT on DMA Channel 6: WordCount= 288 Timeout on WaitTC6: WordCount= 288 ------------------------------ Submitted on 2018 Sep 8 [5:38:41]
