MDM Trouble Report for 2021 Nov 11 Telescope: 2.4m Observer(s): John Thorstensen (Dartmouth) Instrument: OSMOS Problem(s) Encountered: The telescope jumped in RA as before, with one isolated jump and one cluster of maybe a half-dozen jumps over several minutes. After a long slew from low altitude to near the zenith, HP2 was not responding and the mirror support computer threw a bunch of errors and stopped trying to adjust the support. Rather than wiggling the connector, which always scares me, I QQ'd and restarted support, then typed H2 to disable that point. That got me going again, but it settled to HP1 = 40 and HP3 = 20 pounds, thereabout, so later I re-enabled HP2 and the hard points all returned to normal. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2021 Nov 12 [6:32:03]
