MDM Trouble Report for 2024 Feb 14 Telescope: 2.4m Observer(s): Will Waalkes, Aylin Garcia Soto (Dartmouth College) Instrument: OSMOS Problem(s) Encountered: Although everything seems to be functioning technically, when attempting to conduct data acquisition for guiding, we encounter dX values exceeding 1000 and 2000, which are unreasonable. We've undertaken several troubleshooting steps, such as adjusting the Region of Interest (ROI), restarting the MIS GUI, and switching guide stars multiple times to familiarize ourselves with the field of view and ensure we were on the correct guide star. Additionally, we've experimented with changing settings in the JSkyCalc window from field center to inner slit, among other configurations, to no avail. We've also tried adjusting dX and dY by -/+999 in the MIS GUI before initiating tracking, as well as manually moving the telescope with the paddle. We've even attempted to observe different targets, including brighter ones with multiple bright guide star options and dimmer ones, but unfortunately, none of these efforts worked. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2024 Feb 15 [0:03:20]
