MDM Trouble Report for 2024 Feb 24 Telescope: 2.4m Observer(s): Justin Anderson and John Thorstensen (MDM and Dartmouth) Instrument: OSMOS Problem(s) Encountered: When we went to open up, we found the TCS computer completely unresponsive- the mouse wouldn't move. After fiddling with a few connections to no effect, we pressed the yellow restart button on the rack-mounted TCS computer, and it rebooted. We were able to restart the TCS and the Maxim-DL software without any problem. We were open briefly and found a guide star during a more transparent interval, and it was quite a large donut in the guider TV. We checked the telescope focus and found it had reset to a value about 600 units larger than what it was the previous night. This was most likely a consequence of the reboot. In any case resetting to the previous value brought the star into reasonable focus on the guider. The clouds then thickened and we closed without taking any specta. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2024 Feb 25 [4:28:33]
