MDM Trouble Report for 2025 Jan 16 Telescope: 1.3m Observer(s): John Thorstensen (Dartmouth) Instrument: Templeton direct Problem(s) Encountered: The image gradually faded during a sequence of exposures, while the telescope tracked normally. I didn't notice this at the time and had to close quickly after I stopped the exposures so I didn't check the dome position (I had to look at the images on my home machine to discover what hat happened). The most likely hypothesis is the dome went to sleep somehow. The dome did go home and closed without any issues. The sky was perfectly clear on the all-sky (and the Spacewatch all sky camera too), and humidity was below 50 percent, so it wasn't cloud or dewar condensation. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2025 Jan 17 [5:43:11]
