MDM Trouble Report for 2025 Mar 21 Telescope: 1.3m Observer(s): Schiminovich + Class (Columbia University) Instrument: Templeton Problem(s) Encountered: We had several issues that might be unrelated. The main one was that the mirror covers did not open when commanded via the TCS. The display would remain yellow and no motion was occurring.Eventually we found a prior trouble report solution and manually opened the covers. We also manually closed the covers at the end of the night. In the process we restarted the telescope, TCS, xmis, etc. This led to some issues, possibly because it wasn't done in the right order initially. A late-night issue is that the guiding wouldn't work. We could expose and see stars but during guide acquisition the software repeatedly indicated that it could not find a guide star (it also referenced camera2 instead of camera1 ) Ultimately we did not try to correct because the data we were collecting involved short exposures. During our observations, we've also noted that the remote observation panel was particularly laggy. Additionally, when we went to the 1.3m control room, we noticed that the main computer display would appear to reset itself (black out then reappear) periodically Finally, the remote observing window crashed towards the end of the night. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2025 Mar 22 [15:31:20]
