Problem(s) Encountered:

We encountered a minor internet glitch when the mountain lost power. We initially could not get the VNC connection back but a killall X11vnc cleared the dead connections and we were able to get back to port 5900. 

Solution:

If you need to clear up old VNC connections, from a terminal window, type

killall x11vnc
