Problem(s) Encountered:

The problem we met is no target can be observed in the image.

Solution:

The Finder was not moving to the OUT position, even when demanded in xmis2.  I noted that after pushing OUT in xmis2, the motor to move the finder was not turning.  I touched it and it immediately sprang back to life.  So ultimately, the finder was blocking sky light from getting to the detector.  I was able to determine this by taking a flat with finder IN, then taking another with finder OUT.  After doing so, the counts were extremely similar.  Those for finder OUT should have been dramatically lower.
