Problem(s) Encountered:

Issues with the finder mirror motor sticking making it appear as though no light was reaching the ccd. A good test for this is to put a flat lamp on and put the mirror in and out and see if the counts change. if they do not the finder mirror is likely not operational. All it took to fix was locating the motor and giving it a little helping hand to start moving after the out command was given [Anderson]

Solution:

Drive belt was replaced.  Further testing seemed to indicate an issue with the IN limit switch not actuating.  Tore the MIS apart today and found the limit to be working ok BUT there was a small piece of metal loosely attached to the limit’s whisker, which I believe was impeding its travel (and therefore its functionality).  With that debris removed, tested the system numerous times successfully.
